Wilkes House

Stay in a Piece of History on Jones Street. Originally built in the late 1800′s, the building was the first home saved and renovated in the Pulaski Ward by the Historic Savannah Foundation. However, it’s location may be better known as home to Mrs. Wilkes Boardinghouse Restaurant, which occupies the ground floor. This Parlor Level rental is actually where Mrs. Wilkes lived in the early days of operating the Boardinghouse. Now operating as the most popular lunch destination in Savannah, we are bringing back this unique lodging opportunity.

We guarantee this will be one of the largest and finest appointed 1 bedroom homes you’ll find in the Historic Savannah rental market. Add to that it’s location on Jones Street, previously named by Southern Living Magazine as the ‘Prettiest Street in America’….when you think Savannah, you think Moss-Covered Oak Trees, historic homes, and brick paved streets & Squares…all of these are visible from our windows.

Highlights of our rental include original wood floors, 3 original Marble fireplaces, fine antiques, high ceilings, original pocket doors, and other architectural features common to homes of this period. A King Bed awaits in the extra large Bedroom area, a separate dining room awaits for meals, a large living room with flat screen TV and queen sleeper sofa. The full kitchen and washer/dryer make it just like home. There is also a small patio in the back of the rental for enjoying morning coffee.
